Fieldwork

I have conducted fieldwork in the Arctic and South East Asia for my case studies on how leaders reacted to the exposure of resources in the Arctic ocean and South China Sea. Specifically, I conducted interviews with political elites and academics in Svalbard (an island above the Arctic circle) and Oslo, Norway; Dalian, China; Washington DC; and Singapore. This research was generously funded by the National Science Foundation and the University of California Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation. Below are a few photos from my fieldwork.
